Dana Point, CA Roof Repair - Before & After

This Team All Star Construction job began with a leaking home and interior ceiling damage. Our job photographs and completion video document the low-slope section, the failed details and the repair sequence.

1. The problem: a leaking house and ceiling damage

Water entering the house had damaged the interior ceiling. Photo 10 shows staining and cracked, sagging drywall. That interior damage was the starting point of the homeowner’s reported problem; the roof photographs show what was found above it. This record does not claim an interior drywall restoration: it documents the roofing work described by our team.

2. What we found on the roof

The affected low-slope/flat section sat between shingle slopes and a dormer window. The wider views show the coastal setting, an ocean view and existing solar panels on the main roof. Salt air is part of this location’s exposure; the photographs alone do not establish it as the cause of any individual defect.

Close views document failed vent pipe seals, a torn membrane exposing wet or stained decking, splits in the coating and older roof-cement patches. These are separate details in the same repair area, rather than a diagnosis based only on the nearest ceiling stain.

The edge where the flat section met the shingles at the gutter had failed, and another photograph shows a lifted shingle at that transition. A downspout ran across the shingle slope beside the dormer. The record identifies that drainage arrangement without claiming a downspout modification that has not been supplied.

3. The repair process

We tore off the failed flat-roof covering and installed new self-adhered underlayment across the section, turning it up the adjoining walls. We also re-flashed the solar tube skylight and vent pipes with new flashings. Photos 11 and 12 show this stage before the final surface was installed. Product brands and specifications are not listed because those project details have not yet been supplied.

4. Completion: the repaired roof

The completion video shows the new finished cap sheet on the flat section, re-sealed penetrations and clean transitions to the shingle roof. The still below is a frame from that same video. This visual walkthrough documents the finish shown; ask about the written warranty for the proposed scope.

31.7-second silent walkthrough. Captions describe the visible roof details. Video loads when played.
